The Truth About 21 December 2012
According to ancient mayan calendar 2012 is the year when our planet will be destroyed. Is this so though? And what will it bring? There is debate on a lot of this. The destruction of the earth by a celestial body is one of these theories. Many think it could be a black hole that does the damage. Others believe that Planet X, sometimes called Nibiru, is going to return in its long orbit around the sun. They reckon that this Planet X will be passing so close to our own planet that its gravitational pull will cause all the damage.
Another theory is that a huge asteroid is going to slam into the planet. But it is scientifically known that no asteroids have an earth bound trajectory in that time period. Although there will be a "close" encounter, this "close" is actually eighteen times the distance from the earth to the moon away. This may be considered close in astronomy terms, but not close enough to cause any concern.
Other people believe that a solar flare is going to trigger a geomagnetic reversal. The reversal will supposedly have the effect of change the two poles polarity, causing massive natural disasters.
There are a number of sites out there for the 2012 end of the world phenomenon, but one of them has a great number of resources. It is called december2012endofworld.com.
